In this episode we examine the already much-examined "I'm A Mac" television advertisements from Apple Computer. While there's been a great deal of debate about the effectiveness of the ads, Marketing strategist Mark Robert Blackmon argues that the problem is not with the ads; the problem is with those who are writing about the ads. It's a generation gap, he says. Apple is targeting younger, trendier users while marketing and advertising pundits tend to be of a more "advanced age." Blackmon likes the ads, but they don't prompt him to purchase the Mac. Can't teach an old dog new tricks, perhaps. He plays a parody of one Mac ad that's pretty clever and encourages listeners to email him and add their two cents to the Mac/PC debate.
