Dev4Gamers|D4G v2 - End Game - 08.15.06 Episode
Romans 14:8
“If we live, we live to the Lord; and if we die, we die to the Lord. So, whether we live or die, we belong to the Lord.” (NIV)
It does not matter what you do inside a game. If you die, or lose a turn, you get to come back and play the next round, or in a few moments. You must remember that you are confined by the rules of the program you are running, and by how the programers designed it to work.
One of my buddies past times while playing Day of Defeat is to try to find all the areas in a map he can get onto or behind. Sometimes there are gaps that we can not see while in the game that lets him find a secret area or a hidden spot. Likewise I like to explore different areas in the World of Warcraft universe. There are areas that are on the servers but not open yet. With some imagination and work you can get into some of these areas.
Even though we have found or discovered a area of a map or the game world that we think is somewhere no one else can get we have to realize that we are still subject to programers and designers of that game. With one hint of how a player found an area they can and often do put things in place to keep that from happening again. Because while you are in the game, you belong to the designer who made the world you are playing in work they way he wants you to play it.
Well as a believer in Christ we live in a world he programed. We try to cheat and find shortcuts but in the end we discover that God’s rules are the only things that govern everything. And with that knowledge we know that weather we are playing the game, or we have reached the end of our turn, we belong to him.
