Behind the Book|Behind the Book with Chad Prosser and jon o. holloway Episode
Chad Prosser has led the South Carolina Department of Parks, Recreation & Tourism (SCPRT) since his appointment by Governor Mark Sanford in 2003. When Prosser began his cabinet post, the State Park Service was suffering from years of declining revenue, stalled projects and more than $100 million in deferred maintenance. With the help of many outstanding employees at SCPRT, the State Park Service has achieved double-digit revenue gains for six consecutive years, generated more than $12 million in enhancement funds through better management, and finished important capital improvement projects, including statewide campground upgrades and the complete renovation of the stateâs first settlement site, Charles Towne Landing. More importantly, visitor experience has been elevated through the addition of a central reservation system and new parkprograms. As a native South Carolinian, Prosser is proud to serve in an administration that has placed more land into conservation than any other in the history of the state. From his base in Greenwood, South Carolina, photographer jon o. hollowayâs professional career has allowed him to travel the globe, creating photographic exhibits on India, South Africa and Cuba. His work has been nationally and internationally exhibited and collected by private and corporate clients, museums and galleries. He currently teaches photography at Lander University.
