Something Vaguely Reasonable|S3E21: July 19th Episode Episode

On the docket this week: -Something Vaguely Entertaining We begin the show with the concept of frosting a cake with napalm-poo and dogs selling organs before moving on to the twelve mile patch of Stephen King-esque goo hovering about Alaska's coast. We predict it'll be about a week before we get a SyFylitic Original Movie in the works. Largo then gives a small review of Shout Factory's super special Matrix of Leadership collector's box set of Transformers: The Complete Series before we sneak some science into the show by talking about some interesting tech-savvy, migratory ants. Largo gets us back into the entertainment portion of the show by bitching about the misnomer of Watchmen: The Ultimate Edition, released this holiday season, that will fail to contain the bonus features that are included on the Director's Cut that has just been released. And The Boy condones illegal activities before digressing on to a game called Holy Invasion of Privacy, Badman! Largo then digresses further by talking about Amazon's exclusive version of Batman: Arkham Asylum (and Sanguinist lets us know how to get free night-vision goggles with another game before digressing even further by telling us the sad tale of the Hanging Judge statue from Pinnacle.) Switching gears, we talk a bit about how great it would be to have Peter Jackson and Steven Spielberg make an Indiana Jones movie (and talk a bit about how any of the Indy movies have bits in them as unbelievable as the Fridge Nuke from Crystal Skull) before moving on to reviewing Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. Give a listen to see what we liked (or not.) Note: for a change, we manage to avoid any heavy spoilers (though we do earn our explicit rating yet again. We also inquire about Ben Franklin and dead hookers, just for good measure.) We close the show by comparing Midnight Meat Train and Splinter, the two horror films we took in over the week. Listen and hear how the former differs from the Clive Barker story it is based on (and revel in the cheeseball, over the top CGI gore) and how the latter is far better than it has any right to be. We also run down what we consider to be good Barker adaptations and how Sanguinist came to give Millennium a second chance. As a warning, unlike with Harry, spoilers abound in this segment.
