The United Nations has passed a resolution calling for the reinstatement of the exiled president of Honduras. And backed by the strength of people power back home, a Latin America expert has predicted, Manuel Zelaya might soon be returned to power. Dr Ralph Newmark says the show of popular support for the elected leader could see a repeat of what happened after a failed military coup in Venezuela seven years ago. Mr Zelaya has said he plans to return to Honduras tomorrow, despite authorities saying that he'll be arrested and jailed - for violating the country's constitution, as well as for links to drug trafficking and organised crime. Dr Newmark is the Director of the Institute of Latin American Studies at La Trobe University. He says the latest developments in Central America show an ironic alignment - both President Barack Obama and Venezuelan president Hugo Chavez agree that Mr Zelaya's forced exile was illegal.
