Temple Talk|Why does Torah Allow a Second Chance at the Passover Offering? Episode
Temple TalkThis week, on May 8th, will be Pesach Sheni, the "Second Passover," a unique day in the Torah's calendar. According to Numbers Ch. 9, G-d grants a second chance exactly one month later for those who were inadvertently impure during Passover, to bring the offering on Iyar 14. Nowhere in the entire Torah is there a parallel to anything like this -- a "second chance" to relive an experience like the Passover offering, and to be credited with bringing it even though its original time has passed! What is the significance of this unusual allowance? And what does this have to do with the evil, crafty nation of Amalek?
