April Tech News: This podcast covers the news that broke in the month of April.  There were a bunch of little tidbits of news that SolidWorks pushed out of their tech alerts feed.  Topics covered: - SolidWorks Enterperise PDM Service Pack 3 & Hotfix_482805 - SolidWorks Engineering Stimulus Package - Influence the Future of PDM - UTC support on the SolidWorks Customer Portal - New SolidWorks Simulation Premium training lessions - Review of Xpresso for SolidWorks April was a busy week for news and announcements. I have been running SolidWorks Enterprise PDM 2009 SP3 for almost a month now with the Hotfix patch installed without any issues.  If you are running EPDM 2009 SP3 with SolidWorks 2008, there is a hotfix for that as well in the SolidWorks Knowledge Base on the Customer Portal.  I encourage you to participate in the survey above if you are using any form of PDM since your input can help SolidWorks make their PDM offerings better in future releases. I also wanted to share my experiences with Xpresso (voice command for SolidWorks) from installation, configuration to use.  Overall, I am extremely impressed with it, so much that I actually used it in a demo for a local Institute for the Blind whose engineers were using 27" monitors to see the menus and icons.  Using a tool like Xpresso could give them full voice control much easier. I think next week I will do a show about THE HEaRD, a micro blog/community that I started late last year but in recent builds of Laconi.ca, there are some great new features that can really extend the conversation and allow us SolidWorks users to communicate about all that we have in common!  Talk to you next week! ~Lou   Remember to check out the SolidWorks: Heard!
