padma soundsystem nada yoga|Mahamudra (no effort) - Sound Transforming Minds Episode

Mind. What is mind? How does sound transform mind? This is sound transforming minds.Homage to my teacher HE Garchen Rinpoche who introduced me to Mahamudra in 1997. The spoken word recordings used in these pieces are the translation of his teachings on Milarepa's Song of Mahamudra. The podcast broadcast today is the third version of our sound healing I call Mahamudra music. When we perform, we first set our intention to be of benefit to everyone who hears our music. We ask everyone present to set their own intention. I find this very powerful work, and healing for me on many levels. I have some chronic health issues and the conditions are ameliorated by my practice. I have listened to others while they heal with sound and shared their stories of benefit. I am convinced this really works by my observation and direct experience. Buddhist Mantra is real medicine. The creation of the group and our weekly improvised sessions at Yoga Oasis were motivated by a desire to make Buddhist practice relevant to my every day life, Bodhicitta wishes to benefit my community, and my love of sound. All the time I spend here on the web, broadcasting mantra 24 hours 365 days of the year is Bodhicitta in action. We are jazzed by the next evolution of our sound here at SoundTransformsMinds studios with the introduction of some excellent sonic tools and surprising concepts that might be called harmonic insight. My focus has been on showing up for key moments in the dance of the luminaries, literally intending to create astrological music. This is astrological sound healing. The prevailing energies are imprinted in the sound. For the next moon cycle this music adjusts you with relaxation and transformation. The intent is to assist the listener adjust to the Earth's powerful transformation currents that are creating difficulties in our lives. Our guidance systems are adjusting to magnetic shifts. We have alienated ourselves from our environment, ingested toxins, and all the while adapt to our new place in the galaxy, and universe hurtling through space in a collapsing hydrosphere. The dance of the luminaries, the twirling planets and stars. We takes leaps of faith, and if we're lucky we find a shamanic guide (or six) who knows that now is the Great Shift and we are the ones we have been waiting for. We here inside the mandala known as Padma Soundsystem transmit healing intention through meditative concentration while using our voices. We share the blessings and dedicate the merit for the benefit of all beings. The three pieces produced this February full moon (during a lunar eclipse) are inspired by the Tibetan Buddhist meditation known as Mahamudra. From Wikipedia: Mahamudra literally means 'great seal' or 'great symbol'. Mahamudra is an advanced form of Buddhist meditation practice, comprising methods of attaining a direct introduction to the nature and essence of the mind. Mahamudra also includes practices to stabilize the accompanying transcendental realization. The practices associated with Mahamudra draw upon instructions from multiple levels of Buddhism, including Sutra and Vajrayana, to provide a range of approaches to enlightenment suited to the needs of various practitioners. Mahamudra is believed to enable one to realize the mindstream's innate purity, clarity and perfection, summed up by the term 'buddha nature', the topic of the Third Turning of the Dharmachakra, the final phase of Gotama Buddha's teachings. Aryadeva provides the simple summary: "The discussion of how to attain mahamudra entails methods for meditating on mind itself as something having voidness as its nature".[1]
