This week Gareth Scurlock, deputy travel editor at the Times Online catches up with Dan Cruickshank via mobile phone as he sets off on another awe inspiring journey. Dan Cruickshank is a regular presenter on the BBC, best known for his popular series âAround the World in 80 Treasuresâ and its accompanying book. His most recent series, âAdventures in Architectureâ was shown on the BBC in 2008. Dan Cruikshank has travelled extensively in troubled regions including Afghanistan in 2002 for the BBC Omnibus series and Iraq for âUnder Fireâ, reporting on the scale of looting of Iraqi treasures.Dan Cruickshank is currently working on two new books; âThe Secret History of Georgian Londonâ, and âTreasure Islandâ. He is also filming a new BBC documentary celebrating 250 years of Kew Gardens.
