Premiere Opera Podcast|Olivero/Tucker-M. Lescaut Act 4 complete Episode
Here is the complete Act 4 of Puccini's Manon Lescaut, as sung by two
septuagenarians, Magda Olivero and Richard Tucker. And this 60 year old tenor has all his top notes, including a great high C, as you will hear. This was the only time these two great artists ever appeared together, and Tucker gave me this tape, recorded in stereo by the house for him, the day after he returned from Caracas in June of 1972.
To hear these two greats give and give is indeed thrilling, and such singing is simply not heard any more.
