Nobel Purpose: Claiming, Week 5 October 26, 2008Rev. David AlexanderIn this series, we’re looking for ways to identify and express our noble purpose. Our life purpose is embedded in us all. We go through stages to identify and develop it:Stage 1: Initiating: start or begin Life is always initiating in us. We must be willing to go through what is required. Our own internal process is to recognize that this is a friendly universe and not listen to the “yah, but’s”.Stage 2: Visioning:We’re cultivating our purpose. We are articulating and witness to God’s clues for us. We pay attention to where we have talents and passion.Stage 3: Claiming:Claiming is about becoming responsible and accountable to bringing forth our noble purpose and for manifesting our vision. Being accountable requires justified action. Responsibility is the ability to respond.Nothing can stop us from manifesting our noble purpose. The story of Exodus is a story of claiming power. When the Israelites came to the Red Sea, Moses had to claim his power to part the waters. Claiming is critical because God fulfills and reveals itself as you do your work. We all have been wandering (like the Israelites) and it is our job to do our healing work so that we can be free to do our noble purpose. Questions to ponder:1. Are you aware of what your noble purpose might be? 2. Do you think you are responsible and accountable to that noble purpose?3. Does it make sense that you doing your work benefits others?
