SBS World View program| Hotseat Forum: Teaching Indigenous languages Episode
In New South Wales, there are some 70 Indigenous languages.
Eleven of these are now taught in the more than forty schools across the state, with the help and support of the NSW Board of Studies.
In this week's hotseat forum, Rebecca Lewis talks to some of those involved in the initiative:
Geoff Anderson from the Wiradjuri Elders Council, who's teaching his language at Parkes High School.
Steve Maier, a geography teacher at Parkes High School and a facilitator of the Wiradjuri language program.
Aboriginal woman Wendy Brown, a community representative of Wreck Bay and Vincentia High School.
And Gary Worthy, a teacher at Vincentia High School.
