One of the UK?s most popular violinists, Tasmin Little, talks about the Mendelssohn Violin Concerto which she describes as ?the perfect violin concerto?. Tasmin plays the piece with the CBSO in March and here describes how Mendelssohn puts great technical demands on the soloist. She also talks about why Symphony Hall in Birmingham is her absolute favourite concert hall.
Chief Music Critic of the Birmingham Post, Christopher Morley, looks back at 5 different music directors of the CBSO in the 40 years he has been coming to see the orchestra perform and looks forward to a new era.
And in the PodGuide to the Orchestra, CBSO principal Peter Walden talks about the Cor Anglais, plays some of its finest solos and recalls nerve-wracking moments in his 35 years with the orchestra.
