It's All About Marta (and me)|It's All About Marta (and me) Episode #017 Episode
Championship Pro Wrestling (CPW) is the host of this adventure. This is one of the two local sports entertainment organizations in the Portland area. Just the location name is enough to set the tone for the event: Milwaukie Elks Lodge! Bell time 5:00 p.m. The CPW sound system technical difficulties are there from start to finish. At least there is consistency.
Ken drives around the block to pick up Marta since she does not want to get her glasses and coat wet. The near synchronization of the separate audio is sometimes scary. Marta makes a phone call while Ken complains about waiting on Marta. Real time driving directions from Marta leave something to be desired. A story is more important that giving timely directions.
Then there's followed by a discussion of the modifications to the loaner bike. Marta explains why she was late. She forgot her phone and cannot wear a watch. Wrestling Sunday, turn here!
Ken discusses Gulas-Welch Professional Wrestling in Huntsville, Alabama. Meanwhile, Marta identifies the huge animal head on the wall of the Elk's Lodge as a moose. However, she correctly points out 'The Loud Family-a country of their own.' Once inside, it is difficult to agree on where to sit. Can you believe Marta has comments about someone's laugh?
Marta meets fellow fan Jackie and eventually introduces herself Richard, the official CPW photographer. These are nice folks. The Loud Family has a toddler that frequently bonks her head on the steel barrier. Marta recalls a story of her childhood time spent in a crib bonking her head.
The event starts off with the ten bell salute to a local fallen wrestler. There's some pre-card banter with the former Heavyweight belt holder, C. W. Bergstrom, CPW Commissioner Kevin Brandt and CPW Promoter Sam Simms. Ken has flashbacks to Huntsville wrestling. Marta is off to get food because the introductions are too lengthy.
It's funny how a side conversation about nachos can be conducted while there is exciting six-man tag team action inside the ring. Maybe that's why Marta can't figure out who won the match. Next up is Flying Brian Zane with Cheerleader Zoe versus Fuller (a.k.a. Exile). Ken's well placed shouts entertain Marta. If that was not enough, the next match was an intense C. W. Bergstrom versus Jimmy Flame. Marta is so distressed by Bergstrom's physique that she's off to the restroom instead of watching the match.
