Time to think|Time To Think - November 26, 2007 - Crisis leads to change Episode
There’s no doubt about it, we ALL during our short sojourn on planet earth, will experience a series of crisis in our lives. We’ll encounter crisis in our personal life, in business, in relationships, in religion, and in our country. Now, many look upon crisis in an extremely negative fashion; however, once again I want you to get the concept into your head, that there really is nothing bad in life, that everything is in fact in ‘Divine order’, and is therefore ultimately for our overall good.
I’m once again talking about seeing everything in our life in a totally positive light, not so much concentrating on the problems which we ALL encounter from tine to tine, as seeing ‘Opportunities for Growth’. Yes indeed, as we all reflect on our life, I’m quite sure, that many of our most serious crises, have indeed assisted us in actually changing our life for the better. Let’s get specific now with some actual examples.
I knew someone some years ago who was fired when the company he had worked for for thirty years, folded its operations in The Bahamas and moved elsewhere. This, as I’m sure you can imagine, a crisis of monumental proportions for this particular person, who had worked for this corporation for just about all of his adult life. However, he had always thought about eventually going into business for himself; but due to a certain degree of insecurity, he had not had the guts to take the plunge into the unknown, and thus set up his own business.
But now that he had no choice, he took his life’s savings and took the plunge; he established his own company, which today is succeeding beyond his wildest dreams. This man has made much more money than he ever would have if he was still working for his old employer, resulting in his living a much more affluent lifestyle.
Yes My Friend, as the title of this article puts it ‘Crisis leads to change’; and as we all know only too well, change ultimately leads to progress, to growth.
I knew a lady some time back, who was diagnosed with high cholesterol and high blood sugar; she was also incidentally grossly overweight. She ended up in hospital. This was indeed a major crisis in her life. However, as the title of this article so correctly states ‘Crisis leads to change’, and thus she completely changed her previous sedentary lifestyle.
Firstly, she quit smoking cigarettes and drinking excessive amounts of alcohol. She commenced a daily controlled regimen of regular exercise sessions at the gym with a Personal Trainer, and her whole diet underwent a major shift from foods high in saturated fats, to much more fresh fruits and vegetables. This crisis in her life most definitely led to major changes in her overall lifestyle, which no doubt added many years to her life.
THINK ABOUT IT!
