At about 7:30 a.m. Thursday, when the day was just starting to pick up for many residents, a simulated earthquake with an estimated magnitude of 7.4 occurs on the northern segment of the San Jacinto Fault Zone. First estimates of the imaginary epicenter were placed at two miles southeast of Highway 60 and Gilman Springs Road.
