After nearly 30-years as a training vessel for students at A&M-Galveston, the Texas Clipper tomorrow (Nov. 17) will be sunk in the Gulf of Mexico for use as an artificial reef. Texas has done the same with oil and gas production platforms since the 70s, but after 4-million dollars and 10-years in the making, the Clipper is the longest and largest project to date. And as artificial reef specialist Bob Murphy of the Parks and Wildlife department told KERA's Sam Baker, it's a project with unique ties to the state.
