Your Neighborhood Stage|Episode 2.45: Center on the Square, ASCAP Community Theatre License and "The Rocky Horror Show" Episode
November 12, 2007: Center on the Square, ASCAP Community Theatre License and "The Rocky Horror Show"Â2007 by Neighborhood Stage Productions, LLC
This week we turn the spotlight on Center on the Square, a non-profit community theatre and performing arts center in Searcy, Arkansas. We have the pleasure of chatting with Lana Hallmark, founder and now Executive Director of the company. Lana, a former high school teacher, tells us how she made her dream of creating this company a reality. She also tells us about Center on the Square's season, their various programs, and future plans.
We also spend some time this week with Vincent Candilora from ASCAP. He tells us about the Community Theatre blanket license which gives community theatre venues the right to play recorded music before and after productions, as well as during intermission.
This week we dip once again back into our Show of the Week Archives. Back in December Alan Velotta, Artistic Director of Merely Players in Owensboro, Ky (our spotlight group on episode 1.27, released on November 27th of 2006) tells us about that outrageous delightâ."The Rocky Horror Show".
We continue our "Broadway News (in five minutes or
less)" segment, have some more community theatre news, our "Editors
Gone Wild" headline segment, and,
of course, tell you "What's New to Do!"
Don't forget to add yourself to our FRAPPR map. See it and add your pin.
