CoyoteRadio.net|American Zen Buddhist Rock Podcast L2-06 Episode
PODCAST #6 for the Level 2 = Christ Killer by American Zen cd of stories, poetry, and photography by The Hippy Coyote who lived in Salt Lake City, Utah, plays flute like Ian Anderson of Jethro Tull, looks like Richard Gere with a ponytail, writes poetry, works as a photographer, and falls in love with Utah girls. Uh-oh.
Continuing at actZEN.com, Coyote reads "Without Knowing," "Teen Zen is Half-Baked Cupcake Zen," and "Poison of Resentment," where he leaves himself and his audience to ponder any lingering resentments, hatreds, or negative feelings that might exist in our minds. "You have better things to think about and remember," reads Coyote. "Every second you spend hating or resenting someone is like sipping poison." Written by Master Zhen, founder of the shaolinZEN.org CyberTemple, Coyote reads that we should all forgive our parents, "You sip enough hatred and it will kill you." Perhaps cancer is the fruit of resentment.
Coyote proudly reads an iTunes review stating that the CHRIST KILLER album is a classic that compares to The Beatles, Beachboys, and Bruce Springsteen.
Featured songs:
"Great Salt Lake," the flute INTRO song, is from the cd, Level 2 = Christ Killer, recently released by Shaolin Records.
"God Will Protect" concludes this Coyote Radio Show after a hasty introduction in which THCoyote explains that this song broke up the last band he tried to create in Utah.
Background songs:
"Christ Killer," with Coyote's wild solos and scary monks chanting. With only an elk hide drum and an electric guitar, the Zen boys call themselves The NEPHILIM CHOIR with their manly low vocal harmonies.
"Peace Of Mind #1," was supposed to be the first song of the first album by American Zen. Here it is with the love of a Paul McCartney song and the witty lyrical satire of Bob Dylan.
"I Want To Laugh #2," was originally a song with words, that became a duet between slide guitar and flute, that became a solo slide instrumental song, that became what it is as Coyote stood in a bank line and heard this simple lyric while imagining a flootball team struggling to regain control of their game.
Produced each friday by Richard Connor for Shaolin Records.
