CoyoteRadio.net|American Zen Buddhist Rock Podcast L2-05 Episode
PODCAST #5 for the pyschedelic folk rock CD: Level 2 = Christ Killer by American Zen. A few extra Coyote Howls start the show as Coyote warms up his monster falsetto. The Hippy Coyote, of American Zen, continues at actZEN.com where he talks about his teenage years: smoking in the high school bathroom, his Firebird convertible in Newfoundland high school, rebelling against school tests, and wanting a mentor or producer to guide him.
Just ending a band rehearsal, Tom Calder and Steve Hixon argue in the background. "Betty" also plays a surf music riff on his new Pacific Drums.
Featured songs:
"Great Salt Lake," the flute INTRO song, is from the cd, Level 2 = Christ Killer, recently released by Shaolin Records.
"Peace Of Mind #1" Combines the poetic cleverness of Bob Dylan with the romantic feeling of a Paul McCartney song.
"Christ Killer," the title song of American Zen's new album plays in the background as Coyote reads pages 1, 2, 3, and 4 of the actZEN.com website second section "The Young You."
"I Want To Laugh #2" is played without interruption at the end of the podcast. This slide tecnique starts off like Jeff Beck from Blow By Blow, then transforms into Johnny Winter style slide guitar playing.
Produced each friday by Richard Connor for Shaolin Records.
