Three Star Hotel sind eine Band von der südfranzösischen Atlantikküste, die zu Ihren Einflüssen solche Bands wie Pulp, Green Day, Radiohead, The Eels und Weezer zählt. Das Liedchen “I wish I was drunk” stammt vom zweiten Album der Band, welches den Titel “Waiting for the first fan” trägt und ist ein etwas angeschrägter Popsong, der mir erst von unten links unter dem Arsch hinweggefegt ist um dann genau im kombinierten Mitsumm-/Mitwippzentrum zu landen.
Loïc von Three Star Hotel war echt froh über meine Anfrage, ob ich dieses Liedchen hier veröffentlichen darf:
Loïc: “Es ist okay, wenn Du unseren Song in das Wiki und den Podcast lädst, vielen Dank dafür. Es freut uns, dass Dir unsere Musik so gut gefällt.”
FM: “Warum habt Ihr Eure CD unter einer freien Lizenz veröffentlicht?”
Loïc: “Das haben wir getan, weil das eine der Regeln bei Jamendo ist und weil wir auch denken, dass das eine gute Art ist unsere Lieder bekannt zu machen. Musik ist nur ein Hobby für uns, zumindest momentan. Wir studieren alle – und suchen gerade einen Bassisten.”
Also Bassisten dieser Welt: in der Gegend um Biarritz ist noch eine Stelle frei. Ich würde mir das nicht entgehen lassen.

Three Star Hotel is a band from the Southern French Atlantic coast. They count such bands as Pulp, Green Day, Radiohead, The Eels und Weezer among their influences. The song “I wish I was drunk” is from the second album of the band that has the title “Waiting for the first fan” and is a somewhat queer pop song, that sounds like kicks-ass and made me indeed feel like I was happily drunk.
Loïc of Three Star Hotel was quite happy about me asking them to publish their song here:
Loïc: “It’s ok to upload our song to a wiki and a podcast, and we thank you for that. We’re also very pleased that you enjoy our music.”
FM: “So why did you license your CD under a free licence?”
Loïc: “We did this because it is one of the rules of Jamendo and we think it is also a good way to promote our work. Music is only a hobby for us (today at least), and we’re all students – and still looking for a bassist.”
So bassists of this world: don’t hesitate to buy a ticket to the south of France, right now there are some vacancies around Biarritz. I wouldn’t miss this opportunity.
