Madaraka Nyerere, the son of the former President of Tanzania, Julius Nyerere, talks to Adam Ma'anit from the New Internationalist for Pambazuka News. Madaraka Nyerere was in London to re-launch the Arusha Declaration, the document which is the foundation of socialist principles practiced by Nyerere's government, with the Global Women's Strike. Madaraka explores the reasons why Nyerere's policies have been demolished by capitalism, and the relevance of his father's work for modern Africa and the women's rights movement.
