This Podcast focuses on SoulJazz, a term, which was coined back in the early 90s to describe a Soul sound with a Jazz vibe, these tracks wouldnt sound out of place in either a Jazz or Soul gig. These particular songs remind me of the encore tunes that Gilles Peterson and Patrick Forge would play on a Sunday afternoon at Dingwalls, just as you would be ready to walk out, boom, on came one of these tunes and you would do a 360 straight back inside! SoulJazz was also a record shop located above Dingwalls where much money changed hands for the rare tunes that were being played in the club below.
