The Alaska Readers Theater (AKRT) is a place for Alaskan students to share their dramatic presentations with their families, friends, and the world at large. Readers theater has long been recognized by teachers as a powerful, and motivating literacy strategy. The technical advancement and growing popularity of podcasting makes it the perfect forum in which children can share their ever increasing reading skills with an almost limitless audience. This in itself is a huge motivating force for many students. We are no longer limited to the number of seats in the classroom or gymnasium.
