More than 150 people from around the world visited teachers and students at Combs Magnet Elementary Nov. 19 and 20 for the school's Leadership Day. The guests were drawn by the book, The Leader In Me published by Stephen Covey which describes the school's use of his habits in its leadership magnet theme. Lufkin Road Middle students strutt mutts to benefit animal center
Lufkin Road Middle School students and staff held their seventh annual Bolts of Kindness and Mutt Strutt, efforts to improve the lives of the pets, especially dogs, in the Wake County Animal Center. "Typically, the shelter houses over 300 animals at any given time," said Nancy Clemmons, a shelter employee.
