WIA: Members and Guests Descend on Broken Hill

Today saw a major influx of members and guests into Broken Hill for the WIA AGM weekend and to participate in the planned social and tourism events. 40 meter and 2 meter simplex stations were set up in the Southern Cross Hotel on Thursday evening to accompany people travelling by road. Thanks are extended to all those home stations who spent their time keeping the travellers company on HF and relaying messages to others who could not be heard because of propagation conditions. The recent conflict between speedboats in Iran and an American warship is being blamed on a false transmission from elsewhere. The perpetrator is being labeled as a Radio Ham in this news story. Fulton Amateur Radio Club celebrates 50th Anniversary (New York)
