Wendy Carlos explains the process of making "Switched On Bach" in 1967-1968. Just imagine what a task this must have been. Dealing with analog synthesizers that constantly detune. Polyphonic keyboards where not available (so you could only play one key at the time). Touch sensitive keys were new and certainly not ubiquitous. No sequencers were around, don't even mention MIDI. Operates under many aliases, Legowelt, Polarius, Raheem Hershel, Salamandos, Mr Clavio, Smackos, Franz Falckenhaus, etc. Each alias represents a certain style.Part one of this episode starts with slow motion drone like music with loads of arpeggio. Still 13 something tracks made it to this show. Ironically the first two opening tracks are from 1992 but all the rest is from 1988 the peak year for New Beat.
