M.U.S.I.K. is a month-long endeavor to write a new piece of music each day. The challenge of coming up with an idea and then recording it every 24 hours pushes me to be creative on a deadline. With no rules on instrumentation or length, the results vary wildly, so the best approximation I can give is that each day will bring a subset of time devoted to patterned noise.

Finally settling on idea number seven or so, I pulled this minimal sketch out of the woodwork and got it down nice and slow. We end MUSIK 2006 with a lone electric guitar (and minimal accompaniment), much like last time. It always comes down to the guitar....

Night Dreams is a piece I wrote a looooong time ago (notice the extra o's). Until now, it has only existed as a MIDI file. But I finally recorded it live and I couldn't be (much) happier. It's more jazzy than rock, and has a requisite smooth bass line, but it also gets going in the middle-to-end part, so I classify it as rock....
