Tabbed Search Form working

I have spent a good bit of time the last three days working on a new tabbed search form that will go up on our website in the near future.  It is based on code from the University at Buffalo and SUNY Brockport. Here is a screen shot of the search box:This search box uses a set of CSS files and javascripts called dltabbed. They work very well and are relatively easy to modify.  I have gotten it to work in IE7, Google Chrome, and FireFox 3.0.6.  I got some assistance with tech support at Gale....

New Cites and Insights from Walt Crawford

Walt Crawford just posted this message:Cites & Insights 9:3, February 2009, is now available for downloading. The 30-page issue is PDF, as usual. Three of the essays are available as HTML separates (using the links below). The first, which is also the longest, is available as a PDF separate--the inclusion of embedded Excel graphs within the document made HTML creation more cumbersome than I was willing to deal with. This issue features the article versions of my two presentations for the OLA (...

The Future of the Web is Ubiquity!

I am going out on a limb and will say that I think the future is Mozilla Labs' Ubiquity FireFox extension. I am really at a loss as to how to describe it. According to the Mozilla Labs it is an "experiment into connecting the Web with language in an attempt to find new user interfaces that could make it possible for everyone to do common Web tasks more quickly and easily."Its over all goals, according to Mozilla Labs, are to explore how to:Empower users to control the web browser with language...
