Calm winds, small waves, and cold mornings meant it was time to finish out the Starfish Surf Series for the "07/'08 VQS* season. It was typical winter contest weather for January with super cold morning to sunscreen hot afternoons back to a cold winter night. The kids were on fire to grab some valuable VQS* qualifying points. The day was going great, the kids were having fun and then all hell broke loose. The cold front that we thought was going to hold off giving us time to run the event slammed us with gale force winds, Lightning, and the always-fun sideways rain. We got lucky and had a quick break in the clouds so we double beached it and finished the event. Music by Valient Thorr....

Volcom Stone's Seacow Surf Series - Sebastian Inlet, Florida
Once again the Seacow Surf Series at Sebastian Inlet delivered Surf, Sun, and a huge turnout. With over 180 Volcompeditors signed up and ready to go we got under way. The day started off with super fun 2nd peak waves rolling in and ended with a bit of red tide but everyone stuck it out filling their eyes with Japanese eye drops between every heat. We finished right at dark, slapped high fives and headed home. Here’s a little ditty about the day. Music by Nihilist....
